ICCSA 2009 Special Issues Instruction

This page provides instructions to ICCSA 2009 author's interested in submitting papers for the ICCSA 2009 Special Issues of several journals

 

A. CRITERIA

 

1. The paper must be presented in ICCSA2009 by one of the co-authors.
2. The paper must be extended extensively to include at least 50% new materials.
3. The paper must have at least the following qualities:
   a. Clear motivation and problem to be solved;
   b. Extensive critical comparison with the existing work;
   c. Clear proposed methods, supported by algorithms, formal models, analytical models, or any other scientific methods;
   d. Comprehensive evaluation of the proposed methods, supported by extensive performance evaluation results and implementation and/or case studies; and
   e. Citation of relevant papers from the journal of the special issue.


B. EVALUATION METHODS


Phase 1 (Pre-evaluation): Each paper will be checked against the above criteria. If any of the criteria is not met, the paper will be rejected without review. If the quality does not warrant any further review, the paper will be rejected immediately.

Phase 2 (Review and Ranking): Papers that have passed the pre-evaluation phase will be reviewed by the program committee members. After the review, all papers within each journal special issue will be ranked. Papers at the bottom half of the list will be notified a rejection. Papers ranked at the top half will be invited to revise.

Phase 3 (Revision): A revised version of the paper will be re-reviewed. A decision (reject or conditionally accept) will then be made by the guest editor. Papers that have been conditionally accepted by the guest editor will be recommended for an acceptance by the journal's editor-in-chief.

Phase 4 (Final Decision): Upon the receipt of papers which have been recommended by the guest editor, the editor-in-chief will make the final decision whether to accept guest editor's recommendation or to decline the recommendation.


C. SUBMISSION METHOD and DATE


Phase 1 (Intention to Submit): Deadline 31-Aug-2009
Authors who intend to submit an extended paper should email to the guest editor, David Taniar at dtaniar@gmail.com by the abovementioned deadline the following details:
a. ICCSA2009 Paper Title, Paper Number, and Authors;
b. The session (general theme or special session or workshop) where the paper was accepted in ICCSA2009;
c. The name (and the email address) of the co-author who presented the paper at ICCSA2009, and in which parallel session the paper was presented;
d. Tentative details of the extended papers, including title, authors, and abstract; and
e. The targetted journal name for the special issue.

Phase 2 (Full Paper Submission): Deadline 31-Oct-2009 (HARD DEADLINE)
Authors who have submitted their details during phase 1 above should email their extended papers in pdf format to the guest editor, David Taniar at  dtaniar@gmail.com by the abovementioned deadline.
